What a wonderful way to honor a son who is a U. S. Soldier. Thanks to Chestnut Junction for the pattern. I have painted and stitched the heart and then added 5 star shaped buttons to the top. The words around the heart say "A mother's heart is always with her children. God's Abundent Love In times of war, and in times of peace. I am the mother of a United States Soldier." I will then stitch the soldier's name, rank etc. on the bottom. I will use abbreviations when possible. The measurements are approx. 10 1/2 inches wide by 14 inches in length and a total of 18 inches which includes the hanger. I have added a wood dowel at the top with a wood ball on each end to complete this hanging. This item has been stained with a coffee and tea mix. I can leave it unstained if you prefer, just let me know at check-out, if unstained the background will be white. The trim may vary from the picture, it will depend on the fabric available at the time. Many thanks to my friend Nathan Becker and his family for allowing me to use his name as my example. This brave soldier is still fighting for our freedom in Iraq.
